About The 1st Team

Our First Team play at Barrington Park and compete in the Uhlsport sponsored Hellenic Premier League, which is step 5 of the football pyramid system. Promotion is to the Southern League above and the Gloucestershire County League, Oxfordshire Senior League, Thames Valley Premier Football League and Wiltshire League below.

The league was established in 1953 and comprises of the Premier Division, Division One East, Division One West and there are two divisions for Reserve teams as well as two leagues for veterans.

The league was regionalised ahead of the 2000-01 season and Shrivenham gained promotion to the Premier League back in 2004-05 when we won the League 1 West Championship and again as runners up in 2017-18.

Gareth Davies

First Team Manager

Appointed manager in 2017 and guided the club to promotion from the HL1W at the first attempt. Not one to rest on his laurels, he then steered the club to their highest ever finish in the Uhlsport Premier League last season and will be looking to push forwards again this term.

Chris Robinson

First Team Assistant Manager / Coach

Arrived at the club with boss Gareth Davies and assisted him with their back-to-back promotions with Fairford Town then Shrivenham before playing a vital part in last season’s club-record breaking finish in the standings.

Alex Stanley

First Team Assistant Manager / Coach

Was brought in last season and was instrumental in the upturn of fortunes that the side achieved. Alex had a vastly experienced playing career at a high level in the non-league and has transferred his ability on to the training pitch.

Martyn Robinson

First Team Physiotherapist

Arrived in September 2017 and is part of Gareth’s long standing management team who has guided the club to success over the last three seasons.

Mike Alexander

Goalkeeper Coach / Goalkeeper

Arrived at the club during the 2017-18 season and was a major part of the side who recorded the clubs highest ever league finish last season. Picked up the Players Player of the Season award for his efforts.

Maccauley Dodson

With experience at Supermarine, Highworth Town, Chippenham Town and Forest Green Rovers, the player has helped strengthen the side’s defensive capabilities.

Sam Ockwell

Last season’s captain and is a fantastic reader of the game in the heart of the midfield. A true leader on the pitch and always gives 100% and was the Supporters Player of the Season last year.

Liam Edmondson

Class act at the back. Works hard to deal with any goal threat and misses very little. Good pace, awareness and copes comfortably at this level. Really good addition to the team.

Aaron Dainton

Was the defender with the most appearances for the club last season. Goes about his role without fuss and is the kingpin at the heart of the backline.

Liam Walters

Youngster who only played a bit-part towards the end of last season, but has caught the eye of the management team and has been re-signed for this new campaign.

Luke Cordery

One of the players who joined from Fairford, following the management team to Barrington Park and has been a regular in the side ever since.

Ryan Stanners

Joined the club from neighbours Highworth Town last season and went on to make 25 appearances, scoring 5 goals. Skilful midfielder who can take players on and provide the killer pass.

Josh Morse

Third successive season at the club and although last term saw him suffer from injury, he still managed 25 games and scored 6 goals. Has bags of ability and after a good pre-season, is looking at returning back to his best.

Tom Ballard

Joined from Carterton following their sad demise and made the transition to the HPL effortlessly. Talented player who can score great goals.

Antonio Gerrish

Skilful player who was part of the youth set up at Watford FC. Has settled in really nicely grabbing 7 goals in 7 games and has turned into an asset to the club.

Lewis Petrie

Lewis arrived at the club from Fairford Town, following his former boss Gareth Davies over to Barrington Park during the 2017-18. Last season the attack-minded player saw a return of 10 goals from 27 appearances at the higher Step 5 level and he’ll be hoping to push on further this season.

Matty Horsell

Experienced player who has featured at a higher level. Can fill whatever role is asked of him, without fuss. A great reader of the game and provides many deft passes due to his ability.

Danny Hale

Another player who followed the management team from Fairford Town. Tough, no nonsense player who gets the job done.

Jamie Prictor

Enters the season having made 100 appearances in the side over the last three years, recording 40 goals. Last season saw him absent for large parts through injury, however he has been back on fire during the preseason and will be looking at regaining a regular spot in the starting line-up.
