A break from the league this weekend as Shrivvy hit the road for the second of four straight away fixtures – this time in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Vase.

Tuesday evening’s 2-1 W at Westbury United saw the side move up to 9th in the standings, but more impressive was how the side withstood the strong test of their hosts, leaving joint manager Dan Broadbank saying: “We fought well tonight and impressed how we managed to hold on.”

Frimley Green meanwhile play their football in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division and saw their season open with a 4-0 defeat at Saltdean United in the opening game of the season in the FA Cup.

That game has been followed by seven league fixtures in which they have won two (3-2 at home against Banstead Athletic and 3-1 against Cobham) while they have lost the remaining five (0-2 vs Sheerwater, 1-2 vs Colliers Wood United, 3-1 vs Raynes Park Vale, 1-2 vs Camberley Town and 2-0 vs AFC Croydon Athletic) – losing their last three games in a row.

The side currently sit 12th (from 20) in the standings
