Management Pleased With U18s Progress

Former U18s step up to Development team.

Joint Shrivenham Development Manager Glenn Horsell has confirmed that Kieron Sutton, Charlie Hampson, Tyger Hall, Alfie Barker and Joe Kemp have all stepped up from the clubs U18s group to sign with the Development side for the 2021-22 season.

The players were all part of the Shrivenham Youth team that secured the runners-up berth in last season’s tough Wiltshire Senior Floodlit League campaign and have extremely bright futures ahead of them.

Speaking about securing their services, joint Development Manager Glenn Horsell told shrivenhamfc.co.uk:  “They’re all really good players who have worked hard in our Youth setup over the past two years and deserve their places on the roster.

“They’ve got a great opportunity ahead of them and it will be down to them to continue to impress, but I can’t see why these boys couldn’t go even further and eventually become First XI regulars in the coming seasons and then on to play at an even higher level after that.

“They’ve shown the other players in our Youth set-up that there is a pathway to the senior side at this club and it’s very much open – it’s also another example of the strength of the club's coaching structure working well.”

Kieran Sutton was the top scorer for the U18s last term (scoring 9 goals in 13 appearances) while Tyger Hall (8 from 12) was close behind while collectively the five players gained 63 league appearances between them last term.

The players were also given exposure to the higher standard last season with Kieran making 6 appearances for the Development side, Charlie 8, Tyger 5, Alfie 6 (scoring 1 goal) and Joe 5.

Everybody at Barrington Park sends our congratulations to each of the players and we can’t wait to see them continue their progression over the coming years.
