U6s Training This Saturday

Shrivenham & Watchfield Royals – the clubs junior affiliate organisation, are delighted to announce that Saturday Morning Training “Open Sessions” return this Saturday [12.06.21], giving boys and girls the opportunity to join the club at the U6 level and get involved in learning the game, keep fit and having some amazing fun in a non-competitive environment.

The training will run for six to eight weeks and is completely FREE OF CHARGE for children to attend.

Speaking about the potential new pool of players, Shrivenham Chairman Matt Hirst said:  “This will be the fourth year in a row that we have welcomed children in the U6 age range to the club and we’re extremely pleased at how well things are going.

“When I arrived at the club the Junior Section was almost non-existent and it is something that is vital to a club like Shrivenham – these young players are the lifeblood to a club like ours.

“We identified our Junior Section as a pivotal area that we had to get right and sent about recruiting Managers and Coaches and we’re delighted with how it’s all going.

“Everyone involved has worked really, really hard to make it work and we hope that those managers and coaches will also continue with the club in years to come – it’s probably a bit cheesy, but we want Shrivenham to be a real family club, and we want those players to feel the same sort of loyalty that their coaches are putting in and eventually progress right the way up to the First Team.”

If you have a child who would like to get involved, why not bring them along on Saturday and get involved?

Training is held at the Watchfield Recreation Ground at starts at 10am and lasts for an hour.  See the attached poster for further details.

We can’t wait to welcome you!
