National League North & South Suspend Games

Although the uhlsport Hellenic League remains in suspension, journalist, commentator and Non-League Show presenter Ollie Bayliss has announced on his Twitter page that the National League North and South fixtures have been suspended following a League Board meeting which was held this morning.

The news comes following feedback from member clubs whereby Havant & Waterlooville, Concord Rangers and Slough Town have all stated that they did not intend to play their fixtures tomorrow [Saturday January 23, 2021] due to the financial situation and uncertainty surrounding the way forwards and at least fifteen other clubs have also indicated to the League, that they would prefer to suspend season.

He further reported that National League (Step 1) fixtures will continue at present, but while the news may be concerning to other clubs, it may also expedite decisions for the game and the countless clubs who are all awaiting a decision as to what will happen with the current season.

As expected, until those higher up the league pyramid need to come to a conclusion before other leagues are able to do so.

Meanwhile, despite the current lockdown, Shrivenham players will be taking part in an “all groups” Zoom fitness session tomorrow morning at home, as they attempt to remain in contact with each other while keeping fitness levels as high as possible in case there is a return to action.
