100 Club Set For Delay

With November upon us, Shrivenham Football Club would usually be preparing for the first 100 Club draw of the new season, however with the current Covid situation – we’ve only managed to sell around 30 tickets for this season’s competition – so far!

“It’s strange times,” club Chairman Matt Hirst told shrivenhamfc.co.uk on Wednesday afternoon [11.11.20].

“By the start of November we’re usually over-subscribed for our 100 Club, but with things as they have been, we’ve not even managed to sell half of the tickets as we’ve not had the footfall coming through the Drink Wiser Insurance clubhouse.”

While the competition doesn’t raise a massive amount of funds for the club, it does generate a fair amount of response from supporters who enjoy the chance of winning one of the monthly cash prizes.

“With the draws taking place between now and the end of the season, it’s going to be odd not being able to make people winners, but we’re keen to still hold the draws as soon as we can so if there’s anyone out there who would like to get involved, the competition is very much still on – it’ll just be delayed until we have a hundred people entered!

“If that means it will run in to next summer, then so be it, but we owe it to everyone who has entered so far and we’ll definitely be making a concerted effort to make the first draw as soon as we can.”
