Nathan Joins Cricklade

Nathan Blackford has departed Barrington Park and joined up with Cricklade Town Reserves.

Speaking to shrivenhamfc.co.uk after making the switch to the uhlsport Hellenic 2 West side, the player said:  “Shrivenham are a great club with some good, hardworking people around and I’ve really enjoyed the last few years back there.

“After all the summer changes, I was always going to give it a go but it didn’t quite work out how I wanted it to, so the time was right for me to move on.”

Having joined the side for his second spell in the 2017-18 campaign from Fairford Town, Nathan went on to make 44 appearances up until the summer, scoring 8 goals along with 8 appearances in the Development side where he scored 1 goal.

Despite signing for the club for a fourth successive campaign, the player found his opportunities limited this season so opted to move for more regular game time and concluding he said:  “There are some great lads still around the club so I hope they can get things back on track, and I wish everyone all the best – and who knows, someday I may even be back for my third spell at the club?!”

Everybody at Shrivenham Football Club wishes Nathan all the very best at his new side and what is expected to be his debut today as Cricklade Town travel to Shipston Excelsior in the Bateman Sports Chalenge Cup and we thank him for all of his efforts over the last few seasons.
