Steady Eddie Commits To Shriv

Shrivenham Football Club is delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Eddie Cavanagh has agreed terms to remain at Barrington Park for the 2020-21 season.

The shot-stopper has previous experience with Oxford United U18s, Wantage Town, Thame United, Reading City, North Leigh, Abingdon United as well as Royal Wootton Bassett Town before he arrived at the club during summer practice, and has already featured for the First XI in the opening three fixtures.

The accomplished custodian brings a wealth of experience with him to our corner of Oxfordshire despite his relatively young age and speaking to shrivenhamfc.co.uk about agreeing the deal, manager Chris Hurley said:  “He’s a seasoned goalkeeper who is willing to put his body on the line and on top of that, he’s a modern day keeper who can also play football and his qualities and experience will be vital for Shrivenham this season.”

Shrivenham supporters will remember Eddie from our return to the uhlsport Hellenic Premier League in 2018-19 when he played between the pipes for our visitors, Reading City in our 5-1 opening day defeat but more recently he made over 30 appearances for Southern League Division One Central side North Leigh where he featured in fifteen of the sides wins along with four draws.

Everyone at the club welcomes Eddie to Barrington Park, and we look forwards to watching his performances over the coming season.
