Return Of The Mack

Shrivenham Football Club is delighted to confirm that Jack Macklin is remaining in a blue and white hooped jersey for another term, after the player signed his registration forms this preseason.

Speaking about his decision to remain at Barrington Park for another year, he said:  “We’ve all worked really hard during pre-season and I’m looking forward to getting the season started.

“There’s a lot of competition for places in the squad now and that is only going to push us harder.

“We did well last season and I’m sure we’ll be challenging for the league again this year.”

Having featured in 11 Wiltshire Senior Floodlit League games last season scoring 1 goal, the player also featured as an unused substitute for the Development side in a fixture as he gained exposure to the higher level and has worked hard to continue his improvement during the summer.

”Jack is a no nonsense defender,” joint Shrivenham Youth Manager Paul Whitewood told shrivenhamfc.co.uk on making the signing announcement.

“He’s tough, committed and will give his all.

“Despite appearances during pre-season have mainly come from the bench, he’s never let us down and has been very reliable at centre-half or fullback and he’s a player I’m keen to work hard with and help progress over the coming months.”

Everyone at Shrivenham Football Club welcomes Jack back to Barrington Park for another season and we’re looking forwards to seeing him put in another year of hard graft and playing his part in helping the club achieve its goals and working towards becoming a Development side regular in the future.
