Confident Kai Returns

Kai Richardson is to remain with Shrivenham for another season after the centre forward signed forms to stay at Barrington Park.

Despite only making 1 start for the Youth side last term, Kai managed 10 further appearances from the bench and scored 2 goals, picking up 1 yellow card along the way and speaking about his return for 2020-21, he told shrivenhamfc.co.uk:  “We’ve got a really close team and I’ve grown up with a lot of the players and after a very long break, I’m really excited for the new season.

“With our new management team and the new players joining the squad, we’ve had a very positive pre-season which has seen us go unbeaten and we’ll be looking to take that form in to the start of the season.

“I’m confident we’ll be challenging for the title once again this time round.”

The player recorded the highest number of appearances from the bench last season and speaking about the centre forward, joint Development and Youth Manager Matthew Hampson said:  “Kai has a great sense of humour and is very popular with the rest of the lads, so it’s great that he has opted to return to Shrivenham again this season.

“He strikes a lovely dead-ball and although his options appeared limited last season, the early signs in preseason training are that he is fitter than ever and raring to get going.”

Everyone at Barrington Park wishes Kai a successful campaign and we look forwards to seeing him battle for a regular place in the starting line-up.
