PREVIEW | Binfield vs Shrivenham

We face our penultimate game of the season this evening, as we make the journey to Berkshire where we’re facing Binfield – kick off 7:45pm.

ON RECORD

We arrive at Stubbs Lane on the back of seventeen league game undefeated run, knowing that we can’t finish any lower than sixth in the standings, but as fate would have it – two more wins would see the club finish as high as fourth as we go to Bishops Cleeve on Easter Monday.

Binfield meanwhile, sit tenth with 47 points from 34 games and two wins in their final games could see them reach eighth, if other results go in their favour.

Top scorer for our hosts is Ian Davies with a massive 25 strikes from 37 games, which is impressive by any standards, while James Knight leads the race for the most appearances, on 46 games so far this season.  Gary Smith takes the “worst discipline” crown, with two red and 14 yellow cards.

FORM

Our host’s last six fixtures have seen them win 2, draw 3 and lose 1, with both of their previous wo games being draws, while out of the 50 fixtures the club have played so far, they have scored a fantastic 93 goals (1.86 per game), but have conceded 80 (1.6 per game).

IN CHARGE

Stephen Parkinson (referee), Mark Walker and Ireneos Christodoulou (assistant referees) wil be taking charge of the game, while Brian Murdoch has been allocated as the fourth official.

LAST TIME

We last faced our hosts back in January 5 [2019] when they visited Barrington Park.

Two goals from Antonio Gerrish and one each for Tom Ballard and Nathan Blackford gave Shrivvy all three points, while   Danny Horscroft scored a first half consolation for the Moles in a game watched by 57 spectators.

Walk up tickets are available at the gate on the day of the match but there are no details on their official website as to how much entry is.
