PREVIEW | Lydney Town vs Shrivenham

We roll in to Lydney for our latest Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon [09.03.19] looking to extend our winning run to twelve straight games in another 3pm kick off.

Last Saturday’s 2-1 battling away win at Longlevens saw Shrivvy open a five point gap over seventh placed RWBT – who could only manage a share of the points at Ascot.  Gareth Davies will be looking for another promising performance in what is expected to be an even tougher ask at the weekend – when his side take their fourth straight road trip on the trot.

We travel to the Recreation Ground still in sixth place in the standings, with 48 points from 29 games while our hosts are six places below us, in twelfth with 39 points having played a game less.

Their current leading scorer is Lewis Thompson who has 16 goals from 29 appearances, while Matthew Board is leading their appearance charts with 34 games under his belt so far this term.

To their credit, they’ve had no red cards this season, meaning Ross Gabriel is the sides “naughty boy” with 9 yellow cards to date.

Our hosts have lost their last three Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League fixtures (at Fairford Town, Tuffley Rovers and at home to Brackley Town Saints) making their last three points at home against Virginia Water back on February 16 [2019].

They have played a grand total of 41 fixtures up to now, scoring 72 goals (1.75 per game), while conceding 79 (1.92 per game)

Thomas Staten will be running the match and he’ll be assisted by James Nattras and Mark Davies from the sidelines.

The two sides last lined up against each other back in November [17th, 2018] when we battled out a three-all draw.

Goals from Declan Morley-Lyne and  Lewis Thompson (2) were cancelled out by Luke Cordery, Sam Ockwell and Lewis Petrie on the day to give both clubs a share of the points.

Walk up tickets are available at the gate on the day of the match and are priced at £5 for Adults and £3 for Concessions.
